This policy explains what Glossaro collects, why, and what you can do about it. Glossaro is made by Boostio s. r. o., a company registered in Slovakia. We are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
- Account details. When you sign in with Apple, Google or email, we store an account identifier and, where you provide it, your email address. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only receive Apple's private relay address.
- What you save in the app. The words, translations, categories and reading materials you add are stored so your dictionary is there when you come back.
- Photos you scan. When you photograph a page, the image is sent to our server so the text can be recognised. We use the image for that recognition and do not keep it longer than needed to return the result.
- Basic technical data. Standard server logs (such as request time and error information) that help us keep the service running and secure.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
How we use it
- To recognise text in your photos and return translations, examples and grammar.
- To keep your dictionary, categories and progress in sync across your sessions.
- To manage your subscription and account.
- To fix problems, prevent abuse and keep the service secure.
Service providers
To recognise text and produce translations, we send the relevant content to third-party language and text-recognition providers that process it on our behalf. Neither we nor these providers use your content to train AI models. Where we use such content to improve dictionary quality, it is stored in an anonymised form that is not linked to your identity. Payments and subscriptions are handled by Apple; we never see or store your card details.
Where your data is kept
Your data is stored on servers located in the European Union. Access is limited to what is needed to operate the service.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and dictionary for as long as your account is active. Scanned images are kept only for as long as it takes to process them. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our systems.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it, and you can object to certain processing. To delete your account and data, or to make any of these requests, write to us at the address below and we will act on it.
Delete your account: email [email protected] from your account address, or use the account deletion option in the app. We remove your personal data after the request.
This website
This website uses no cookies, no trackers and no analytics, and it loads nothing from third parties. Visiting it does not send your data anywhere. The theme choice is the only thing saved, and only in your own browser.
Children
Glossaro is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
